Several demographics have more than their fair share of low-life people.

Thailand seems to attract them for many reasons, not just the easy sex.

If they come and go that's one thing, but the Israelis are putting down roots.

Hopefully the Thai gov't will sort things out. If they don't do it and do it fast, the people will take to the streets like they've done so many times in the past and force the issue.

I omce attended a meetup for atheists for informal discussions.

When I revealed I was a Jew the room got very awkward as if they couldn't process that a Jew could be an atheist (not to mention what other bad vibes I was getting). So even atheists can be dumb batards!

Well we did disagree earlier inasmuch as you opined that one who is born a Jew remains one. I shall NEVER think that - after all it comes from Jewish rules in which I have no interest nor belief. Therefore I'm not!

I agree partly with your latest post (IMO all who slavishly follow religion behave like dumb batards even if they're highly intelligent people)

I don't style myself as Atheist because IMO Atheism is as much of a belief system as "conventional religion"

One of the definitions I've found is: "Atheism is the absence of belief in, or the positive disbelief in, the existence of any god or gods. [1]"

Even though I don't believe (absence of belief) in any gods. deities or similar, despite the "or" I don't agree with that definition because of the phrase "positive disbelief"

To me there's nothing positive about it. It doesn't exist, even if it did it would be totally irrelevant to real life and it's on a par with the tooth fairy and father xmas 😉

And honestly, on a day to day basis I don't bloody care!

If I absolutely MUST be labelled, I'm closer to Agnostic, defined as

"An agnostic is a person who believes that nothing is known (or can be known) about the existence of God or the supernatural. [1, 2] " But once again, I don't care.

Bottom line could be Sam Goldwyn's comment "include me out"

Jewish is an ethnicity. All my relatives going back are/were full on Ashkenazi Jewish.

Many modern Jews have much more mixed up backgrounds so that's different.

For me to deny that I'm ethnically a Jew would be as moronic as a Han Chinese person denying they are Han Chinese.

It doesn't have to be anything about religion.

I know you have your own opinions but objectively, sorry, ethnicity does exist.

I'm not at all interested in the atheist vs. agnostic debate.

That reminds me of when I was growing up gay boys would claim to be bi.

I have a friend who actually traces people's ancestry using such data as government records and she also uses those Ancestry DNA tests. Just for fun I did one and, sure enough that also agreed with what you said, that my ancestors were Ashkenazi with a bit of Sephardic thrown in (I admit to being a modern mongrel!) But that's my ancestors, not me - they're all dead.

Ethnicity itself is irrelevant to me - as unimportant as my total lack of interest in the whole question of religion.

Like saying, my great grandfather was a carpenter, but I cannot even hold a saw correctly, it doesn't matter in the real world.

@Jingthing I really think that's where we have to agree to differ - we're not going to agree whatever we argue!
