Israel envoy urges tourists to respect Thai culture

Featured Replies

Her statements were very diplomatic and emphasized that tourists needed to follow Thai laws and respect Thai culture. She also tried to explain how Thais were not antisemitic. Seems like she was trying to calm the situation and keep the Thai/Israeliis relationship. While I do not agree with many of the current actions of the Israeli government, I can respect her approach. Her statements are quite a jactaposition to the Rabbi that was the US special envoy on antisemitism who accused Thais of being antisemitic.

  • When it comes to rude people the Israelis are without a doubt overrepresented. However, that is not the case with non-Israeli Jews, who are generally very polite.

Jews out signs are a special greeting in Thailand.

I think you mischaractized exactly what the US envoy said..

I agree with you that the Israeli ambassador was very diplomat. Hard to expect better than that.

However, based on the recent go home to die statement it doesn't appear to be working so well

Thank you BTW for liking so many of my posts.

It's heart warming.

She clearly knows and understands the Thai people, their culture, history and attitudes, a lot better than some who have been posting on AN about the origins of the situation.

She clearly understands that's it's better living in Thailand than in Israel. Why rock the boat and be expelled, or recalled? She said something without actually saying anything, just like a politician. 😂 😂

Why are you here, rather than your home country? Why am I here, rather than my home country? Why are we all here, rather than our home countries?

Same Same reason for her.

Takes me back, Mum had to explain, when I got the hump cos my best mate wouldn't come out for football on a Saturday, lol.
