I will make it easier for you to understand why Trump is a war monger. He promised no war and he bomb Iran, military strikes and captured the Venezuelan President, doubled down his threats to take Greenland and threatened to invade Cuba. That's the defination of war mongering. It is not hard if you resist the urge of being a recalcitrant.

Umh, I hate to mention it, but the primary "alternative route" is a pipeline across Saudi Arabia to the Red Sea.

Iranian "proxy" forces in Iraq have already damaged that pipeline. The (Iranian backed) Houthis now control the southern exit from the Red Sea.

And whose fault do you think that is? It's a direct result of a close Ally of American the Saudis deciding to bomb the Houthis once again. MBS is utterly desperate, his support base is falling apart, he has alienated never nearly every tribal faction in his country, and now his actions have resulted in the Bab al-Mandab Strait being closed to all Saudi oil transits, further damaging the world oil market.

One of the few smart things Trump has done during his second term is to say no to MBS in his recent plea for help. He's dumb, but he's not dumb enough to want to have all the straits closed. Now if only Disaster Don had said no to the Israelis we wouldn't be looking at $100 oil right now, and the GOP would not be getting slaughtered during the midterms more than likely.

This is the best analysis I've ever heard of Yemen and why the Saudis have never been able to wrestle control. It's also indicative of just how deep the Saudi problems are at this stage of the game.

Lastly it's about the Houti control of the southern end of the Red Sea and the amount of power that creates for them.
