What Are Good Isps Available In East Pattaya Aside From Maxnet Tt&t

Hi

Can anyone recommend what is the best or strongest ISPs internet providers available in East Pattaya (nongprue) near soi koi noi where I live?

I have TT&T Maxnet at 1029kps and twice in August the net was down due to stolen telecom cables which seems to be the new hot crime in pattaya! I lost over 12 days internet access in August over this, and since my work depends on strong internet connection as I work remote into europe with VOIP and Email. I lost many days of business and work which caused serious problems.

From now on , I cannot risk having one ISP, and I want to get another totally seperate ISP in as a backup, in case TT&T have more problems. and indeed since i do use VOIP, I may be able to use one ISP for VOIP which will improve quality and the seperate VOIP for internet etc....

Can anyone suggest what other ISPs can I get out here in East Pattaya, which wil give me 1000Kps up which I find provides the best VOIP quality so far?

I understand I have to other a 2nd landline of TOT in order to get another seperate internet conection in from a seperate company too.

All sound ideas and suggestions will be greatly appreciated please?

Thanks

It seems to me no matter how many land lines you install, if they insist on stealing your telephone cable they will all die. No cable no adsl.

Have you thought of an air_card for a GSM or CDmA operator as the back up? This would make sense to me based on what you just said. TuCom centre have many of them.

They cut the phone cable down off the main telephone poles on Soi Koi Noi near Paradise Villas which sent our whole area into an internet blackout. It wasn't my personal cables cut, but the main ones.

Do all the ISPs share the one main phone line on the telephone poles?

Some suggested CAT to me?

Re your suggestion, I was going to get Nokia E90 Communicator as I do believe it will allow me to use my Irish VOIP call provider so I can make and take calls on to Ireland where most of my work is located. and of course can use skype on there as a back up and get email and internet etc... its expensive this phone... but what it costs me in lost business, it will be worth it, and of course I then I am mobile re business needs too.

I had an Axen card which I bought in 2006, but that does not seem to work anymore and would insert mobile phone sim card into it, so I had email. but it was slow as hel_l.

So would air_card for a GSM or CDmA operator as the back up? allow me to use VOIP?

Whats a CDmA operator anyway...?

Also other reason I was considering a 2nd ISP for the net is that I could dedicate 1 ISP broadband line exclusive to VOIP (irish voip provider blueface.ie) which can have quality issues somedays in thailand, where people in ireland cannot hear me too good, so that may help solve that problem too?

Anyone else got list of ISPs that can be got easy and fast in east pattaya soi koi noi/soi kao talo eare??

Thanks

Yes they all share the copper wire (POTS)

Pop your head out the window and look at how many phone lines (normally the small wires) you see in your street. One? Ok so if it is gone all asdl from all providers is gone. CAT included. No copper wire no adsl.

Thus the suggestion to use mobile providers via an air_card.

Ah Ok. Thanks for making that clear, So if the robbers cut down 50 meters of whatever of the main phone cable on Soi Koi Noi, in Pattaya, then all ISPs renting space on the the main company the owns the cable ( I am guessing TOT), are all off line until the cable is fixed.

Do you have any good web sites on this air card... I do know there is a farang owned company in Pattaya. I saw their web site before that sell air cards, does anyone know the name of their www?
