Anti-stretch Mark Creams

Featured Replies

Hi,

My gf being pregnant she was recommended to apply anti-stretch mark cream to minimize the extent of pregnancy skin stretch marks.

She bought a Thai brand at the pharmacy, named "I Knew, best body line", but now feels it's too cheap, cannot be efficient...

Any brand to recommend?

Thxs.

I am not sure if anti stretch mark creams actually work or not but they are a good idea anyway. When I was pregnant, I used a light bath oil made by Neutrogena. It was absorbed straight away and didn't feel greasy. I applied it to wet skin after a shower. I didn't get any stretchmarks but I don't know if it was the oil or just my skin type.

Bio Oil is supposed to be one of the best to use. But cheap doesn't have to mean it wont work.

Years ago I had a GF in the states. She was 36 years old and had had 2 kids. No stretch marks. I was surprised. I asked her how she did it and she said that everyday, after her shower or bath use used vaseline on her stomach. Nothing fancy, just vaseline.

Mothercare do a brand that a friend recommended and I had my wife use, no complaints.

There's a branch in Central Chidlom where I got some for her sister too,

A doctor friend recommended generic Vitamin E cream at 1000 international unit concentration. Cheap and available at some health/pharmacy stores (though not sure about Thailand). It worked for my sister. Granted she used the cream 3times a day from before her pregnancy until many months after delivery when her body returned to normal.

I also saw it worked for a friend who already had childbirth stretch marks. It took her about 6 months to get rid of about half of the marks (her estimation, though it did looked much improved to me).
