Featured Replies

I have to make an urgent trip to Melbourne on Sunday for a heart operation,my non imm -O will expire while I am away.

If all goes ok, is there a Thai Consulate in Melbourne where I can get a one year non-imm O to return on.

It's amazing what Google can do ..

Hmmmm let's see.

"Melbourne Thai Consulate"

Wow .. first hit .. an address and phone number.

There is also now a consulate in Hobart. They accept applications by mail and claim to have the fastest Thai visa processing time in Australia.

And for any other would be smart arse repliers, I only found out late today about the operation and have 48 hours to get my affairs here in order then get from Isaan to Bangkok Airport ,hence the civil enquiry.

I agree with you!

Just ignore and forget a stupid answer like that.

I wish you good luck with the operation.

Relax much as possible and keep smiling as far as possible in your circumstances.

It is a pity it is not true.

Huh, what is not true? I have not tried them, but the site looks genuine.

Ozzydom, hope all goes well and you recover soon. Sorry if the info on the Hobart Consulate was not accurate. I thought as you are a Tassie boy it may be useful.

Without question the service provided by the Thai Consultate in Hobart is the most effective and efficient I've found. The Consulate is operated by the Honary Thai Consul to Tasmania and has been operating for approximately 3 years. The Consul is a Thai gentleman and Thai citizen named Abhirat who has been living in Hobart for an extended period but frequently visits Thailand for business and to visit family. His service is most definitely the fastest in Australia and his responsiveness extremely good. I live in Hobart and have used him multiple times but I've also referred many people from other parts of Australia to him and they report his service is very good. You will find his contact details listed onthe Department of Foreign Affairs website.

Try Brisbane Consulate as well, it took me 15 min after walking in the door to have the 12 month visa stamped in my passport... fast, efficient and friendly service. :o

Well,I,m back ! complete with two nice new stents in my old heart, thanks to the Austin Hospital and a one year non-imm O multi entry visa ,thanks to the Thai Consulate in Melbourne.

Had a big attack going through immigration in Melbourne so they whisked me off to the Austin Hospital and I was on the table within 2 hours.

The visa application was much less painful ,one form to fill in,copy of marriage, wifes ID and my yellow Tabien Baan and $225 AUD ,picked up visa AM next day.

I was lucky to get out of this one ,90% blockage in one artery and 80% in another, thanks to 55 years of very regular nicotine intake, have I given them up ? Nah , but I,m working on it.

And thanks again to the well-wishers. :o

Ozzy

Good to have you back Ozzydom... just in time for the grand final this weekend.
