Yes, we were heavily involved in monitoring drugs during my tour of duty in Panama 1981-84. I worked the NARC (a type of message relay) and the U.S. Southern Command communications center at Quarry Heights. Noriega's drug dealing led to the 20 December 1989, invasion. Our facility always receiving and sending messages but we shift supervisors would read the daily reports on Noriega's whereabouts, which mistress he was with, who he was fishing with, etc. We saw the back channel Contras messages from/to Lt. Col. Oliver North, Admiral Moreau, Admiral Poindexter, Henry Kissinger as a contractor, and others. Next door in Honduras we were preparing for the invasion of Nicaragua. I still have dreams of those days. The Falklands War kept us very busy. Messages to Whitehall dealing with logistics support, intelligence efforts, and much more. -

Can you catch diseases from toilet seats?
I agree with you concerning public toilets, just because they are not clean enough for my use, and also because not ALL the e.coli is where it should be. Perhaps we could hire someone to take swabs from various public toilet seats, culture the results, and then enter the resulting data in a spreadsheet, to be posted later on this Topic. Meanwhile, the 0.5 caliber sniper weapon is not for hunting game animals, such as wild boar, and the Weatherby IS. If you plan to go hunting game with a 0.50 caliber, then you should try one of those old 0.50 caliber black-powder muzzle loaders, with octagonal barrel, and a coon-skin hat. These are much more fun. These days, I do not hunt, and I never sit where I am not welcome, on public toilet seats of questionable status. This is why life in Japan has always been so alluring to me. Also, once I went canoeing in the deep northern woods, for over a month, where there were NO conventional toilets....and.. I didn't get sick, once. There are no germs deep in the forest. And, all the toilets deep in the woods smell clean... With the scent of pine. -

Do they ever raid Thai places? Or those kind of actions are unpopular? I am tired of reading about Thai police taking care of foreign-related venues only. And most of us know where the true crime (including underage one) is. Sometimes it feels like Thai crime is not considered to be a crime at all. You need foreigners involved to make it sound like a true crime for the general Thai public. -
