Discovery Channel...

Featured Replies

For the past five days, The Discovery Channel on UBC seems to have resigned transmission in English.

In the past they have had programmes dubbed in Thai in the early hours but now it's completely in Thai - still watchable though.

Other than that BBC WORLD is still good though rather miserable viewing (when it's not out of sink and skipping) and Star Movies is still showing crap, straight-to-video films, though in all fairness, some crap films are actually very watchable.

Anyway folks, back to Discovery, Ben A Rie Wah???! :o

Wait until the UBC folks start to dub the BBC news into Thai. Amazing company... :o

Discovery Channel is bi-lingual as always. The same as History/NGC/AXN/XZYT/Animal Planet etc. Guess you have an analog cable hookup and thus you need a TV set that can change soundtrack for you. Those marked for German Stereo should have a remote key to select soundtrack.

The DTH system selects on it's own remote control and they also offer a digital cable system in some areas with the same control box. But for those of us with the old system we need a TV that can change it.

My UBC sat is still in eng/thai just like it has always been.

Yeah but is it English for three weeks and then Thai for one week before repeating the process?

Mayve the GF messed with the UBC remote, as my wife has done before, and changed the language options....But, if that's the case, there should be some other channels with at least some programs also now in Thai that were English-only before...
