Exemption Visa Possible Directly After Tourist Visa?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Around the tenth of december mij 90 days tourist visum end. I have been told that those 90 days of the tourist visum, don't count for the 90 out of 180 rule. My question is:

1.Is this true? and if so:

2.Could I go around the 10th of december to Myanmar to get a 30 days stamp? (visa on exemption)

N.B.: after these 30 days I will be for 120 days in one row in Thailand.

Best regards,

Ron

Answer to 1 is yes.

Answer to 2 isn't that easy, as you fail to mention the previous history, but providing that you haven't spend more then 90 days on exempt stamp in the last 6 months, yes you will get a 30 days stamp.

After you entered Thailand with your tourist visa, the expiration date of this visa has no more significance for you.

Your departure from Thailand must be not later than the expiration date of your permission to stay. This expiration date is on the entry stamp that was put in your passport when you entered Thailand, after the word “UNTIL”
