SBPBC expedites mental mitigation for insurgent victims

The Advisory Council for Southern Border Peace Building Command (SBPBC) expedites mental mitigation for people affected by insurgency during the month of Ramadan.

Chairman of the council, Aziz Benhawan (อาซิซ เบ็ญหาวัณ), says insurgent victims in the Southern border provinces still need mental mitigation despite the government’s compensation for them. The council has therefore set plans to arrange activities to meet people affected by insurgency during the Ramadan month to show generosity for them.

The activities include trips to police’s operational center in Mueang district, Yala province, and the Songkhla Prison, Songkhla province, on October 4th to meet insurgent suspects. On October 8th, the council is scheduled to meet 130 insurgent suspects at the Ingkayutthaboriharn (อิงคยุทธบริหาร) Military Camp in Nong Chik (หนองจิก), Pattani province, and on October 10th it will travel to the Sufficiency Economy Village in Mueang district, Narathiwat province.

The chairman says he expects that the activities will help insurgent victims lead their life in the society normally and ensure that they will receive support from their peers.
