Are bus or train stations closed around December 5 in celebration of the King's birthday? I would like to travel from BKK to Ayutthaya on December 6, or 7.

thank you,

Karl

Especially if traveling somewhere cooler such as Chiang Mai. The three-day weekend holidays in December (along with New Year's) tend to get booked up with many Thais making their annual trek upcountry.
