Hi,

I friend of mine needs to get his Thai Marriage Certificate translated into English. Does anyone know of any translation services that could do this by post either in England or Thailand. Also do you think they would do the translation from a color photocopy?

I know of several translation places in Bangkok, but am not living there and do not have their contact details.

Thanks Nick.

I'm sure some of the sponsors of the forum will be able to help you for a ridiculous fee. Why not post it on the Thai language forum and we can translate it for you. :o

I was in the British embassy on Thursday when I forgot to get my daughter's birth cert. translated. A guy in the queue said go across the road and get it quickly for 800 baht! Outside I was accosted by another fat tout who said 400 baht. I went and met a nice girl and guy from Udon who did it for 200 baht.

He will need an authorised translation, can't seem to get that link to work, will try again later.

do you have a telephone number for any of those offices?

Thanks Nick.

if i recall correctly after you get your translation, you can go to thai foreign ministry, and they would put a stamp to certify the copy. same day, have some fee.

worked for me like that.

i am sure here is much cheaper to have the English translation and certification.

Not clear to me, your friend here in the LoS or in the UK?  If here, lots of places down Ploenchit way, catty corner from the Brit Embassy.  If in the UK, I'd try a Thai restaurant.  Not sure if this is OK in the UK but in the U.S. it's fine, doesn't need to be a stamped and sealed translated document.

Hi,

I'm in Sakon Nakhon and as of writing have not come across any translation offices. My friend is in England and requires the translation as he is applying for a visa for his wife to go on holiday in Europe somewhere. I know of plenty of places in BKK but am trying to avoid going there.

Thanks Nick.

PS. I'll suggest what you said about the Thai restaurant thing to my friend. Thanks Mac.
