Global Warming Makes Uncooked (thai) Food Dangerous

And yet it's companies that are selling these things that are improving your living standard to todays level compared to 50 or 100 years ago.

If consumers wanted to pay for something thay often can. Don't blame a company for the consumers lack of care in their choices.

Anyway, you are assuming the companies that cut down forests (...) are evil - if their action somehow was, perhaps you should look no further than the people giving them the access to do this and the voters for accepting it by reelecting the people responsible...

Ps. Most clearing of forests around the world in 'protected areas' are generally done by farmers and others, not any big companies.

Even without 100% proof that humans are responsible for global warming, why ignore the small percentage that we may be partly responsible for it?

Mostly anyone would react immediately at his/her doctor's mention of serious disease and act immediately. Same thing here on a bigger scale. Inaction is madness.

I agree, and proactive research is the key. Not defensive measures of shutting down industries and stopping research - that is only going to slow down the process, not revert it. Over the last 100 years we have steadidly, in the market itself, been effecticising and improving the manufaturing efficiency processes for each item of gods - this was done due to market forces, not government regulations.

And now would you care to translate that last sentence into English? I don't know what business field you work in TAWP, but I hope to gawd it ain't marketing. You'd send the poor consumer round the bend, with syntax and spelling like that. You seem to be saying that it is the long suffering consumer, and not government or industry itself, which is the best regulator of cleaning up manufacturing processes, which I would agree with to a certain extent. As it is consumers that join lobby groups like Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth, and consumers which can choose to buy certain products based on their "greeness", that help to pressure certain companies to clean up their act, either through the bottom line or the shaming of certain "dirty companies" through the media to clean up their act.

But don't forget the political process, which is becoming ever stronger in Europe, Australia and Canada; but ditheringly slow and lumbersome in the US, despite the best efforts of Al Gore and a few others to move it up the agenda. And as it is that 5 % of the world's population that produce 25 % of the world's greenhouse gases, then there has to be a lot more consumer pressure, naming and shaming of companies and politicising of the issues, before the US wakes up to its responsibilities. The voter is just as important as the consumer! It not only means national regulations, but international regulations like the Kyoto Protocol before there'll be a positive move forwards to some sort of meaningful lowering of the pollution which is blighting the planet and changing climate.
