Big Birds Cause Pilots To Worry At Suvarnabhumi

Featured Replies

Birds in their thousands are returning to their former habitat,

Bingo.

With other habitats being encroached upon and no replacement provided, I think any 3rd year ecology student could have predicted this.

There really isn't a lot of encroachment going on a few kilometres outside of Ubon where this occured. The town is growing and is a lovely place to visit however.

uhhh, don't you think there is a difference between a solitary bird collision and the situation at swampy in respect to the flocks of birds?

BTW there is a problem with natural habitat destruction in Ubon Ratchathani. At least that's my understanding of several of academic and government publications, many of which are available on the www.

Just because there is no development in the immediate proximity of the airport does not mean that the dam building frenzy and deforestation of recent years hasn't had an impact. Read the biodiversity corridor reports.

Exactly my point! This was an isolated incident in Ubon, yet posters are mistakenly linking it to the new airport near Bangkok.
