Vientiane Embassy Check

Featured Replies

Need to go get my non-"O" to then extend to my retirement visa and wondering about going to the 'Embassy?" in Vientiane...are they currently issuing 60 day non-"O" visas? Trying to save a little dough and make an adventure out of it from Chiang Mai. Are there flights going between CNX and there?

There are flights on Lao Airlines via Luang Prabang:

If saving money is a concern, take Nok Air to Udon Thani (three times a week), and bus to the border (about one hour) then taxi to Vientiane (another 25 minutes). Lao Airlines aren't cheap.

What you may get in Vientiane is a Single Entry Non-O-Visa at best. Good luck and have a nice trip.

Thanks to all for the help...single entry will be fine, and will then do retirement extension...again, thank you
