Just a word of warning to those looking to catch the train up to Bangkok from the Koh Toa ferry.

I spoke to the female clerk at the ticket counter, got the ticket down there, staying over night in Chumporn and onto the 13:00 fast boat. She suggested that I buy the return journey, boat crossing inclusive, so that we would manage to catch the 12:46 Chumporn to BKK train. So I paid for the tickets and all was okay. That was right up until we arrived at the boat ferry terminal for the Koh Tao-> Chumporn ferry ride, where we were informed that the first ferry was 14:30 in the afternoon, some 1hour and 45 minutes after the train departed from Chumporn to BKK. Why had she sold the ticket knowing that we would not be able to get the train?

Fortunately we had time in hand and managed to switch to the 10:15 ferry which got into Chumporn at 11:50. We had to pay an extra 450 baht to change over the tickets as well.

If any one is going to try to use this route then I would also advise you to get a taxi, 200 baht, at Chumporn when you arrive, to take you to the train station, other wise you will miss the connection.

Also feel the need to mention the travel agents at the main train station in BKK, on the gantry next to the Black Canyon shop, I wanted to get a ticket from BKK to CNX, they wanted 5600 baht for a 3600 baht ticket, so posssibly give that place a wide berth as well.
