Not that nationality matters, but many years ago a young American guy (mid 20s) wondered into my workplace in Bangkok. He had an american passport - which he showed- and started asking for crazy things. We had to call for security to escort him out - he resisted, but eventually complied. Then a few months later I read about the American guy who claimed he killed that Bennet Ramsey girl. He had walked into a Thai police station - I can't remember whether he was extradicted, but it turned out he was making up the story. The name and photo looked similar (can't remember now), but I remember flicking through his passport and he'd been to almost every Asian country. So the weirdos (or mentally ill) can travel if they have the means.
