not in the last few months but i did in january this year.

from my own personal experience I thought they were fine - meals, service, comfort, flight punctuality etc. obviously the price comes into it where china airlines are involved too.

I can't comment on the IFE - I usually sleep, drink, read or listen to my own tunes.

the negatives would be the mid-afternoon flight from AMS (I struggled to sleep) and iirc china airlines don't have the best safety record.

Not recently but many trips on and off over about 10 years...lots of courier flights and eventually got a gold card....

Always enjoyed the outgoing trip...early couple of pints in departure at Heathrow (7-00am) then over to the Dam for a session in the KLM Lounges (CA dont have one ) and then leave at from memory @ 2-30pm...usually upgraged.

Used to land at DM about 6-30 am and from there it was a quick airport bus ride...or local bus ...before the big road was build....3 hours in a taxi ....drag......along to the Honey for a kip and then ...go for it....

Return was a late bus to DM,couple in Bill Bentley /CA Lounge and then to Amsterdam (knacked )..pick up a bit of cheese and head back usually with a hangover with BMI to the Smoke....happy days .

Now tend to use TG and go directly.... :o

Ok. Other than having one of the worst safety records of any major carrier, I have no opinion of them. (Although that doesn't bother most people if they can save $50) :o

Is the safety record twice as bad as others?

Do you have a one in two million chance of getting killed instead of only one in four million on the safer airlines?

1 in 98,000 approximately.

Approximately four times the fatality rate as Thai Airways, more than double the rate of Garuda Indonesia.

I've never been able to win the lottery with those odds against me, so my chances of being on a doomed plane with such odds are pretty good, and besides......

....the in-flight service is so good on those China flights that I'm sure if the plane got into a fatal dive, the cabin crew would still be serving drinks on the way down. :o
