Knakpattra
Hello all I am going to Bangkok this Thursday (25th) and i feel like staying in the area of Nana plaza (and no, i am not 70 years of age ) As it is high season now, i dont want to head to Bangkok and go for Nana hotel without a backup plan so i am looking for some advice/backupplan in case Nana Hotel is fully booked (Yes, i tried online booking : No, i didnt got any reply back) Anybody can give me advise on any hotel in this infamous area with similar activities like how Nana Hotel gets his reputation? As for me, i dont mind to enjoy myself a bit, its a crazy place for crazy people so i fit well. I heard hotels in Nana Plaza, especially Nana Hotel are very entertaining, alot of people of all kinds and all kinds of funny activities; a friend told me he sat with a coffee in lobby/hall and had a great time just sitting and watchin there.... Anybody can help me out with some hotelnames worthy of staying in case Nana Hotel is full?
Knakpattra
During my search, i came across a few others Majestic Suites AWgroup (?) Dynasty ..... no clue if this is something for me though... anyone?
tw25rw
Majestic Suites is my regular place and is much better than the Nana. Majestic Grande is better again but dearer. The Dynasty is right there, but I had a bad time there. Many people would recommend it though. You can still sit in the Nana lobby/restaurant if you want to watch the procession.. Knakpattra
I actually expected to see a reply like yours , tw25rw My focus is on Maajestic as of now Its only a bit hard to find a good locationmap where it is I guess that, when u walk out Nana hotel...and pass Plaza which is on ur right and head to the sukhumvit main rd, it is around the corner on your right. Is it guestfriendly? i aint bookin in advance as i have no creditcard ; would it be worth too check out if theres a room? As for the activities which i find amusing, i dont like to sit in a hotel and enjoy myself if i am not a guest over there, it does make me feel a bit "desperate for things" ... Majestic Suites backs onto Nana Plaza (so you get the doof-doof music in the back rooms). It is completely gf with no joiner fee. Security will take the girls ID, which is a good thing. Coming out of Nana Plaza, turn right, then right again at the corner. Walk 20 metres and you're there. Without a card, you might have trouble booking anywhere. I would get one of the prepay debit cards and use that. The hotel is a little tired, but much nicer and newer than Nana. The Nana people don't mind you using their restaurant. It's much bigger than Majestic's. The toilets there come in handy too. Edited October 22, 2007 by tw25rw
britmaveric
Majestic Suites in prior to Subway - can easily miss it if you don't pay attention. Great hotel by the way and I recommend it.
think_too_mut
Majestic Suites in prior to Subway - can easily miss it if you don't pay attention. Great hotel by the way and I recommend it. I was just waiting when britmaveric will come with his standard fare - Majestic Suites. Some people I know (a couple) loved it. Recommended it to a first time in BKK friend, he also liked it. Rooms are small though, but dont spend much time in hotel apart from sleeping. I forked out 1800 a night for a deluxe room which is a bit bigger.. Has a table and chairs and a bit more space. Only issue is taxi access. From the airport, you need the taxi to stop in soi 4 or the Nana carpark or the petrol station if you can explain it. To the airport, you need to walk up to the Landmark or else the taxi can't get across the traffic and will need to take a circuitous route to the highway entrance. britmaveric
Ahh well Majestic Suites normally upgrade me for free. I think amount of times I've stayed there has smth to do with it. Yes - taxi is a problem, normally get them drop me at the 711 and I walk over myself.

Knakpattra
How bout the action at the hotel itself? i love to walk down / exit my room and find myself in a nice place/lobby/hall/bar with people / ladies for a nice conversation/socialising event :-P thats why i wondered about the Nana hotel; i heard the sugar daddies (old sex tourist/farang are everywere, and most of the time, due to their life experience (their age) they are good company (not looking or judging what they are doing in the hotel/the area itself) But Mr TW25RW, if i come with cash, nobody will refuse...as far as i have seen, a card is simply the way to make an advance booking, with the extra risk of theft....and nothing more than that I can manage a card today and have a hotel booked , but do you (or anyone else) really think its very much required (especially now, since i will depart to Bangkok in 4 days frm now) ? will it be full for this comming friday? any idea? Anyway...as for the female action... Nana hotel seemed like a place that takes away possible boundries as the females are everywere..... but if i stay in Majestic, the easyness, simplicity will disappear as i have to really focus on gettin contact/connected with a nice lady,.... ( i guess ) In Nana Hotel, all u have to do is walk down the lobby and pick. I guess Majestic will make me doubt as there is more effort to be done by myself (or am i wrong) Im still not fully 100% comfortable with pay 2 play as u can see it basically has to fall on my lap And oh....... what if Majestic and Nana hotel are full....any other suggestion where i should stay with my kind of desires? ;-) Edited October 22, 2007 by Knakpattra

And you'll have trouble booking in advance. The lobby of the Majestic Suites is small. It doesn't have through traffic like the Nana. You won't be able to pick up in the lobby. But with Nana Plaza and hotel about 2 minutes away, you won't need to. Other suggestions are the Majestic Grande and Dynasty (2 hotels nearby) as suggested. All are nicer places than Nana Hotel. Pretty much all the hotels in the Nana area are GF and the ones mentioned are a short walk from NP. As for tips, just go into NP and you will see something you like. And it's not like they are shy either.

Shrubbery
The Woraburi further up Soi 4 on the right hand side is ok. Rooms start from around 1200 baht per night. I've stayed there 5 or 6 times with and without my wife. Staff are a bit miserable.
chavy
I stayed at the Dynasty yesterday & every time I make the trip into Bangkok. I've never had a complaint about the place. The rooms are 1,280 & 1,480 BHT per night. They are gf & take their ID card.

Knakpattra
i have stayed at Woraburi two times My own experience were so-so I hve read alot of complaints, from bad bookings to stolen valuables when luggage was stored in their luggage storeroom Woraburi is also a bit far walking, its nice if u need excercise yes This time not for me! In 2 days i go and i guess i try Nana Hotel first, after that Majestic and Dynasty, Manhatten also sounds nice but is a bit too far away from the hotspot i think (cross the street, walk down the road) Mr Toad mentioned Grace hotel , what is so special about that? let me see the location first, then i might have an idea... The Grace, Soi 3, opposite the Bamboo bar and about a 5 minute walk to Nana. Can't really say there's to much special about it though.

They are usually about 1200-1300 per night around there.. You really should invest in a prepaid debit card. Lets you book things and can be used at ATMs and is much more secure than carrying large sums around.

Im going for Majectic (IF it is still available hhahaha) i hardly make use of Credit Cards, i did once and i paid a (online) domestic airline fee (in India) for a friend, and this guy needed to carry photocopies of the card/my signatures etc to show the airline office that it was a legal purchase and not frm a stolen credit card So it wont be a problem if i make a booking and when i arrive i cant show the card that i used to make the booking?? Majestic, it had like 3 roomtypes , the difference between these rooms are not more than a small bottle of beer Any1 want to advice me which one to take? ... no suite (2050 baht) as i find that waste of money.... 80% of the time im out Single studio - 1315 Single superior - 1420 Double superior - 1670 A newbie question allowed?
