tgeezer
I have read that Spirituality is of the Soul and Religion is of the State. When monks demonstate against the state or have cars and computers or even come outside are they really monkish? Should the monks in Burma care, were the monks in Vietnam who immolated themselves Spiritual? Is this biting the hand that feeds you?

I think it's all about caring about the plight of the people that feed you, whether that's spiritual or not I don't know, but it is good. It's been a long time in coming, so it hasn't been entered intio lightly. I'd ask is standing by watching the suffering of others and doing nothing spiritual?
