Last year, as my company asked for a 1 year non immigrand B visa at the Monte Carlo Consulate, the lady laughed at me and said they don't do those no more... I was granted a 3 months non imm B instead.

Anyways, I was wondering if it was still the case ? Or didn't anything change since 2006 ?

My second question is the following: Is it possible for a non Singaporian nationnal to be granted a non Imm B in Singapore, w/o a WP ?

Many thanks, I'm sure you'll be of great help, as always

Perhaps the Monte Carlo Consulate no longer issues one year multi entry 'B" visas but other Consulates do.

In Singapore, you will only get a 90 day 'B" visa with a work permit or without a work permit.

Hi,

The Monaco / Monte-Carlo Consulate is just a very small office to make easy basic visas to Monaco (rich) people.

They have very limited power :

- No 2 or 3 entry Tourist-Visa, only single entry and only if no back to back visas;

- No 1 year non-Imm Visa; only 1 entry / 3 months for O anb B visa;

etc.

To get a 1 year non-Imm visa, better to make the trip to Marseille,

or to call Lyon consulate to verify that you can get it there by post.

I believe that has been the case for the last year or so. No multi without a WP in the area.

So what is the businessman who visits Thailand regularly, supposed to apply for?

A single entry B everytime?????? :o

Try telling the Thai company to apply for a work permit for occasional business meetings.

They will look at you blankly, but that is what the rules require.

My employer, a major US computer manufacturer, expects me to go and

teach classes in Bangkok without a work permit........

I have refused.

It is not worth the hassle that could ensue.

I'm assuming {big mistake} that if one applies 'at home' the visa might be forthcoming, but that if you apply in the locale, that now, multi-entries are problematic. I'd be interested in anyone who has recently acquired a multi B within the region, as opposed to home. If a Thai company asks for it with all the paperwork, on the basis that the individual will be representing them outside the Kingdom, anyone know what the position would be?
