jonboy
whats the update on the Doom3 server? Is it still getting used? I'm up for a bit of 'kick ass'!!
Ian_B
Too busy playing the new version of counterstrike and the amazing "toilet-flinging" Hal Life 2 deathmatch! Both far better than Doom 3 online (and HL2 is MUCH better than Doom 3!)
jonboy
Ive got HL2 aswell and also agree its better. Do you have a thai server or know of some good local servers? Also how do I go about connecting to someone else via ip adress on HL2 as I only have a copy of the game and doubt ill be able to play online going through the main server. cheers
Ian_B
If you want to play HL2 & Counterstrike:Source then you really do need to buy a copy. If you have the pirate one then you are stuck to playing games on local lan I play for hours at the weekend - there are quite a few servers in BKK with pings as low as
Firefoxx
How's the cheating situation in CS? I read on the web that CS:source was very cheater-prone since Valve didn't put in any safeguards. I like CS but stopped playing it long ago when the online cheating situation (even with things like punkbuster) got too tiresome.
Ian_B
Never noticed any probs with cheaters on CS:Source Valve has done a fair few updates to the program to block the cheats as they arise. I actually like Steam as it always keeps HL2 & CS up to date and it's always really fast for me.
