Anyone out there might please help me find a plumber with a "snake" for clearing clogged toilet pipes?

I've ruined several "plumber's friends", Draino, and even had guys who vacuum out septic tanks try

hosing whatever is in there out, to no avail. One toilet has tree roots (I get them out of the floor shower drain fine,

but have only managed a bit from that toilet. Our 4-year-old apparently put something in another one...

Thai friends either know what one is but know of no plumber with one, or have never heard of it!

It will be an on going problem Joel, "choke rods" will only be a temporary fix. You'll probably have the old earthenware pipes there and as the cement joins deteriorate the tree roots creep in the cracks.

It's not a major job to replace the sewer line in PVC but I suppose if you're renting you don't want to do it.

Why don't you ask at one of the plumbing supply shops, they'll know tradesmen with the equipment.

For a toy stuck in a toilet the fix is to dismount the toilet, remove toy, and reinstall toilet. If its a western style then you will need a new wax seal and maybe some new bolts if the old ones are too rusted for reuse....if its a squat then just some sealer around the base. Not a difficult job if you know how to do it. Instructions for doing the western toilet are available on the internet....the squat toilet is obvious and no instructions needed.

Well thanks guys - but it wasn't a toy but a cloth... the bolts are puttied in... it's PVC already

and I took care of it with caustic soda. much cheaper than Draino or a "Chang taw rabai-nam" (or chang taw-prapah, sakrok or whatever).

Yes, the roots will grow back - I regularly drag them out of a corner drain. but they don't respond well to caustic soda, it

seems - and that's only B40 a bag!

will still be looking for a functional plunger - I guess that "Western" "American Standard" modern place on the bus station

road well towards the highway might have something of better quality

but it is pretty much global mega-corp and all

Watch your self with that caustic soda Joel, it's mean shit. Treat it with the same respect you would give to a strong acid. (Or an angry wife with a sharp instrument in her hand).

I hear you! :D

caustic soda is indeed mean shit. But it works. Well, I hope it will - because it seems there's a ghost in the system! This morning, the 3rd toilet, the one that had continued to work, is clogged...

my problem now is that the flush-tank stopper in one had to be reattached, and after, it didn't dlose

so the thing ran all night, filled up the just emptied septic...

and with this unseasonal rain...

oh well

and this morning 2 clocks had stopped...

incense, candles, sitar music, some chanting and
