Singapore Airlines, Forbidden Sex In The New Airbus Suites

Airbus A380 First Class Suite with double bed

SINGAPORE - Singapore Airlines, the first operator of the new Airbus A380, has dashed the hopes of sexual thrill-seekers planning to engage in amorous activity aboard the world's biggest jumbo jet.

The carrier said it would ask passengers on the A380 to refrain from sex while ensconced in one of its 12 first-class suites, which boast the world's first airborne double beds.

"All we ask of customers, wherever they are on our aircraft, is to observe standards that don't cause offence to other customers and crew," the company told Reuters in a statement.

"Nothing different applies for our Singapore Airlines Suites customers."

While private, the double cabins are neither sound proofed nor completely sealed.

Singapore Airlines, the world's second-largest airline by market value, started commercial flights of the double-decker A380 last week with a Singapore-Sydney service.

"So they'll sell you a double bed, and give you privacy and endless champagne and then say you can't do what comes naturally?" Tony Elwood, who traveled with wife Julie in a suite aboard the inaugural flight, told the Times of London.

"They seem to have done everything they can to make it romantic, short of bringing round oysters," Julie said. "I'd say they shouldn't really complain, should they?"

Reading the press release, I think it's more a case of it's OK unless your a screamer.

Just as an aside though, I do wonder how the double bed configuration works in case of clear air turbulence, OK for bondage aficionados?

Regards

those guys... they've done it! :o:D:D

What would one expect, it's SINGAPORE Airlines. Heck, Singapore, the country {majority owner of Sing. Air} just got around to legalizing oral sex between consenting adults (opposite sex couples only for now...to contemplate anything else would have been too much and really blown their little minds). :o

What're they gonna do, install infra red detectors? Too much body heat :D and an alarm goes off and you get sprayed with cold water :o .

Its just two recliners side by side.

Anybody know the cost yet?

Cheers

Its not two recliners side by side - its a double bed.

Cost on the only route its flying is a 25% premium over normal 1st at about 10,800 SGD to Sydney

The cost of their upgrade biz on other routes with other planes was supposed to be a 25% premium too but there was a recent article saying they could not sustain the prioce increase on routes such as SIN-CDG

Singapore to Sydney return in a suite is only SIN$ 22,000 for two persons. :o

I made it B477,666.

To put it in percpective Thai Airways Bangkok Sydney first class would be as follows.

2 adult(s)x(116,040.00 + 7,515.00) = 247,110.00 THB

total for all travellers 247,110.00 THB

Cheers

If you think about it it has to be.

I think the crew will use discretion.

If I'm spending 500k on a flight that's the first thing I'd be doing; sod the neighbours :o

For $15,000 you shouldn't have to bring your own partner either.

I've heard the SQ trolley dollys are generally attractive......possibly included in the price?

I'll get my coat.... :o

You've either got very accomodating neighbours,

or, they are in for a rather painful shock! :o

You forgot to mention consenting anal sex between the opposite sexes is now also legal in SG.....

airasia would take this as a business opportunity. "you can only buy your partner on flight. bringing your own partner for sex is forbidden. sex is however available at a reasonable price." *not including any surcharges and insurances.

You might just get away with sodding the neighbors (as long as they're both of the opposite sex). In fact it may be that the Gov't of the Rep of Sing recently made hetero sodding legal as part of their celebration of the launch of this new 'suites' service. Does it strike anyone else as odd that it was SG that was the first to put into service these flying 'love hotels'?

Solo travelers would only pay half that and weren't specifically covered in the ban....

Then again, they already sit three across in economy:
