Not sure about the best place to get tickets but make sure your passport is valid for six months beyond your stay. I know many people who have been denied transportation by their airline due to an Indonesian requirement about the six month validity for your passport.

I know you can fly Air Asia via Kula Lumpur but it's a pain because you must reclaim bags and clear customs in Malaysia. I think if you check the Bangkok Post some travel agencies have discount tickets on Garuda or even Thai for around USD $300.00 return.

Have a great time in Bali!

Magestic travel agents tend to offer some of the lowest prices and they are very reliable.
