Hey,

I know Thai Visas are the topic dejour here, but I would like to get information on obtaining a non-spousal visa for girlfriend to U.S.A. Anybody have knowledge on this or reference to a good website? What are the other 'best options,' requirements or ideas? Perhaps setting up a Thai company and making her 51% shareholder for example? I'm open to any information.

Thanks,

Bill

Doc,

Thanks for your reply. In response:

How old is she ....

She is 26.

does she have some money ...

No, hence my thought of either putting money into an account for her, or starting a Thai business, with her as majority shareholder. And I do mean a real business (export) with a traceable production point.

.are there compelling reasons for her to return to Thailand ..

Other than the usual (parents, etc, or starting the business), I can't say as far as how a consulate/visa official might view.

like does she have a decent job ..

Not a high level job,no.

what level of education has she ?

High School education.

Anyway, thanks for your time whether you've good news or bad. Your thoughts and experience are appreciated.

The official requirements are outlined at US Embassy Bangkok Visa Page

I doubt that new money/job will go far but if request made after a period of employment it might fly.  But I suspect we are talking much longer than a finance visa would probably require.
