November 7, 200718 yr in February next year. As I am going to Seoul next week to take up a new job does this visa automatically get cancelled on departure from Bangkok or do I specifically have to visit an immigration office to do so. Cheers
November 8, 200718 yr rayabk, your situation is not too clear in your opening post. If you had a single entry B visa, and you leave Thailand before it would have expired, you have used up your only entry. Multiple entry B visas are good for an infinite number of reentries until the expiration date, and you do not need to get permission to reenter the kingdom (from the local immigration office). An extended B visa, however, will expire if you leave the country without getting a reentry permit. Please, tell us more. My response here may trigger others to give more expert opinions. Good luck.

And if you have a work permit as part of your B visa, you will have to take care of that before you leave.
November 8, 200718 yr Your visa expires automatically when you leave Thailand. (Unless you have a re-entry permit, which does not seem applicable here). As you are leaving your job, your employer will take the work permit to the Labour Dept for cancellation. The problem that you may experience is if your visa has a 1 year extension. In which case, once your WP is cancelled your visa will also be cancelled and you will be given 7 days to leave. As you are leaving next week, then just go.
