Ah, yes, but the Malaysian paper has a vested interest in 2-engine planes so could not report the proper details lest it upset key sponsors. Is there no one left to trust? :o

So SOMEONE is deliberately lying. I for one would like to know who, before I ever fly TG again. (I'm already not buying Thai newspapers so I guess my leverage there is nil. :o )

Your boycott has obviously forced them to go to great lengths to recover their readership. :D

You lost me here. What vested interest could a Malaysian paper have in two engine aircraft? :D

Many experienced aviators have commented to me that it is a wonder that T/Air planes don't regularly drop out of the sky. they are run by the Airforce who don't wannt to know and have erratic funding.

to expect any Thai airline of giving a clear account of anything untoward that happened on their flights is simply wishful thinking.

Ive seen lots of aviation accidents and fault reports on many airlines and can tell you there biggest interest is making sure people trust there planes, they will lie and coverup anything they can to keep there reputation.

Its just how they all work these days

I like the bit about the bags not inflating and people hyper ventilating. The bags are NOT meant to infliate, so they could well have been working. As for the hyper ventilatiing, I have no doubt everyone was scared out of the whits, so that would be a natural thing. To me it sounds like a decompression of sort, although it should be noted that cabin pressure is provided by the aircon, so it is quite feasible that there was an aircon problem.

I recall flying from Darwin to Brisbane a few years back on a Qantas 737 that had one aircon pack out of action. As it happened on the ground before flight they decided to take off anyway but flew at a lower altitude.

I am curious to know just how serious was this incident. The other day, I nearly had a traffic accident, almost pooped my pants, but I didn't and in retrospect it wasn't that close of a call...it just caught me off guard at the time and scared me half to death.

Anything that happens in an airplane seems like a big deal, after all you are a long way from the ground and going really, really fast. But in the overall spectrum of things, how serious was this type of incident? What are the chances of it causing a crash?

Scary, yes, but dangerous?

Probably not overly dangerous. Like some cargo door is not properly shut or fails otherwise and bang, air pressure is gone. The subsequent rapid descent is the typical (and very required) procedure if that happens, probably under full engine power to get down to a safe level ASAP.

It's just that it would be nice to have it reported accurately, rather than lying to people. And yes, when you claim 'aircon problem, people felt hot' then that is a clear lie. Sorry but I can't call it anything else. They're implying after all that it was very minor, similar to an aircon of a car failing and passengers feeling a bit hot. This was simply not the case, and the reporting was NOT accurate.

BKK Post people do read this forum, but they choose to help TG cover it up.

Maybe something has to fall out of the sky first, but even in those cases corruption and incompetence takes over, so they happily continue on to the next disaster.

welcome to the world of aviation.

Thats actually how they ALL work, even if one drops out of the sky, they will try to coverup the best they can unless its something they just cant cover up

I had a friend who bought a return ticket from Bkk to Koh Samui with Bkk Air. After flying 'til they were actually in sight of Samui, they turned round and flew back to Bkk and landed. There was no explanation at all but they did make an announcement thanking everyone for flying with Bkk Air.

My friend mused that when he bought a return ticket to the island, he thought he'd at least get to land before returning to Bkk.

He eventually landed on Samui 7 hours late and never received an explanation.

How do you know which report chronicles the true order of events?

Because I know and trust JaiDee. I also know a thing or two about airplanes and his version of events rings truer from a technical standpoint.

And i know and trust Wing Commander Wicha Nernlop, he also know's a thing or two about airplanes.

And a Thai would never tell a lie nor mislead anyone. :o It would be a first if he did. :D
