November 11, 200718 yr Hi everyone, I am not a poster but I have been reading for a long time on this forum. Thanks for all the great information especially on the business threads, some really good stuff on there. Short bit about me. I have been living in Bangkok for about 7 years, I am from the United Kingdom mid 30’s etc etc etc. Only thing I miss big time from home is getting together with pals and playing music. I am a classically trained Euphonium player, went to uni the lot and I just miss the music and the friendship around it. There was nothing better than going to the Whit Friday Marches or the R.A.H. for the brass finals, better those last minute late night rehearsals getting the contest piece just perfect. I wanted to start a Brass Band in Bangkok made from Xpats so I contacted the British Bandsman and they said they know of at least 600 members in Bangkok alone and they can help me in contact them. I managed to contact one . He was a really good professional quite famous cornet player in his prime. He offered to play back row but nothing else. This made me re-think and go for a stop gap as my plans where obviously to grand and maybe starting a quintet would be better. So the question is really are there any brass players out there in Bangkok that would like to get together for a blast, if the numbers go over 5 then no problem. Maybe if we get real lucky we could start something in time for xmas and get some good old caroling going. I am willing to play any instrument and I have an empty house that for now can be used for rehearsals. Looking forward to your replies
