Conversation Translation

Featured Replies

Can someone translate this conversation into english?

พี่เลียตตต มีแต่หนุ่มๆช๊วนนนน เลยน๊า...

อ่ ะ น๊ า ....

ค ร า ย ล่ ะ.... ???

จ า เ ห มื อ น นู๋ บ๋ อ ม .....

เ น อ ะ..++

Thanks

It's hard to translate these things because they're very context based, and the spelling is deliberately incorrect to reflect the phonetics of jocular speech. Anyways, I will make an attempt, and asking anybody who knows better to correct me:

พี่เลียตตต มีแต่หนุ่มๆช๊วนนนน เลยน๊า...

I'm SERIOUS, I get nothing but guys coming on to me.

อ่ ะ น๊ า ....

(Teasing particles.. Perhaps signifying something like 'Hey, tell me more????')

ค ร า ย ล่ ะ.... ???

Whooooo might that be? [Exaggerated vowel length on ใคร]

จ า เ ห มื อ น นู๋ บ๋ อ ม .....

Like li'l Bom [big question marks for my interpretation here - I am really unsure about this sentence]

เ น อ ะ..++

[Looks like a Northern Thai particle, the ++ could be to indicate a questioning tone.]

Feedback appreciated.

M.S., I hope you don't mind if I may correct your translation. It's a chatting style message which is not easy to understand if you are not used to with it.

This is a conversation between เลียต(Liet) and บ๋อม(Bom). เลียต must be older than บ๋อม, so that บ๋อม calls her as พี่ (พี่เลียต) and พี่เลียต calls บ๋อม as นู๋ บ๋ อ ม (little Bom)

ช้วน is from Teochew dialect, means all, whole, entire.

อ่ ะ น๊ า is used for replying when someone saying something to you and you just want to show that you are listening but don't accept or deny on what that person have just told you.

เ น อ ะ is used in the meaning of asking for agreement which equivalent to English term "Right?"

So, the whole conversation would be roughly translate as(if I didn't misunderstand anything. :o );

Bom : Sister Liet, all of them are guys (Bom is teasing Liet about something which might show that Liet has all guys around her.)

Liet : uh-huh

Liet : Who else?

Liet : will be the same like you (Little Bom)

Liet : Right?

Thank you yoot, that is really helpful.

As you can see I am still very much struggling with making sense of this type of conversations.

Thanks for your responses. I will give u a little background of the conversation. Liet is my gf, lives in bkk, has a house there which her father pays for. She is originally from sisaket (again, good call re:northern dialect). She has a profile on hi5, which is a forum to meet and make friends. She had been a member for at least 2 years (i've known her one year) and has accumulated about 57 friends that come and go. Bon is a younger guy (correctly recognized in your response).

I was just trying to get a flavor of this dialogue between them. Bon has a ton of friends on his profile (mostly women). It seems like a forum for mostly teenagers or college kids, but I guess there are many older folks on it too.

I met her on a dating website called date in asia, when I was in bkk last year, and whenever i go back, we spend time together. However, we seem to be getting more serious and are talking about a relationship.

I was a little upset with her prior to my last visit and spent my time with another lady, which she knew about. :o I was really p*ssed at her in fact. But anyway, it seems we patched things up and will see each other in March. I can't complain if she is with other guys, because we are not together full time, but I was looking for a translation that would inform me if it is mostly just flirtatious or something more.

Thanks

I think when I go there in March, I will enroll in a thai language course, just to get to know my way around
