If you want to get an non-O visa for the purpose of visiting your Thai wife, you must go outside Thailand to get the visa from a Thai consulate or embassy.

If you want to get an annual extension of stay for the reason of living with your Thai wife, you must go to an immigration office in Thailand.

That's an unusual combination - foreign income and non-im B visa. Are you're sure that's what you've got?

If indeed that's the case - no chance getting one year extension of that visa without employment in Thailand.

You would visit immigration with the same documentation that others use during the last 30 days of any 90 day permitted to stay and extend that stay on the basis of family.

Hello Cyberstar,

I am more and more confused.I have a non emigrant b visa(bissenis) i used this type off visa already 5 year, last year i get out thailand 3 times, and this year 4 times and when i game in again they newer ask for documetation about working in thailand or a return ticket.

I think i go to the emigration in mukdahan and ask what i have to do and what it will cost me to settle this down.

thanks henkjan

Henkjan, perhaps you are confused because you are mixing up visas and extensions. From the information you have given it looks like this:

– Five years ago you entered Thailand on a non-B visa.

– Upon entry into Thailand, you received permission to stay for 90 days.

– Subsequently, you obtained an annual extension of stay for the reason of employment, and you then got new extensions of stay every year for a total of five years.

Therefore, you do not need a new visa. You simply go to the immigration office, fill out a new application for extension of stay (form TM.7) but this time, in the field “Reason for application”, you write “to live with Thai wife”

Maestro, sorry for interfering. Am I missing something regarding an Immigration Office in Yasothon??

Maybe yes, but if that office does not exist then Maestro is right henkjan, you coold go to the Immigration office in Mukda Han and get your extension there.

With between 3-4 weeks remaining on a 90 days entry is the most often mentioned time frame - although it can be later; or earlier if there are extenuating circumstances.
