Solarenergy Shop In Chiangmai. Any Chiangmai Resident Can Help?

Hi all,

I am looking for some shop selling solar energy solution. I intended to buy my 2 X solar panel(20Watt each), 12V DC 10A controller, 600W DC - AC inverter in Singapore and hand carry it over to chiangmai. I need some help in locating a solar solution shop to buy a battery(deep cycle charging type) as it will be impossible for me to hand carry into the airport.

Base on conversion rate

1SGD - 1.5USD

1SGD - 22 Babt

==========================

So my question is

(Q1)

Is it better for me to bring it over from Singapore or buy everything in chiangmai. Here is my breakdown cost of buying in Singapore.

2 X solar panel(20Watt each), SGD390 or USD260 or 8580BTH

12V DC 10Amp controller, SGD55 or USD36.6 or 1210BTH

600W DC - AC inverter, SGD128 or USD85.3 or 2816BTH

So is it cheaper to buy in chiangmai??

(Q2)

How much is it to buy the deep charge battery in Chiangmai?

(Q3)

Will the Custom tax me even I tell him it is all for charity project work in some rural villagers.

==========================

I am intending to build a solar farm for the villagers in one of the rural area in Doi Mae Sae located in Mae Hong Son province.

Will be very appreciate for those Bros who can help me in this area. I am going over in the mid week of Dec to implement this project.

Thanks all....

can not answer any of your above questions, but I do recommend Global House on the second ring road, between HangDong and Chiangmai-Lamphun road (tall tree road) as a good point to start. Head out pasted Robisons and Lotus HangDong, take first left at the big set of stoplights(with tunnel underpass), maybe 3km on your left. They have double glazed windows display, so might be the best place to start.

Even for a generous donated project do not expect ANY goodwill from customs unless you have powerful people on your side. This is said in the nices way, but they do not see past their own pockets. Highly likely a local option will work out better for you.

Have you already looked at solutions from Solartron and Leonics, based here in Thailand? Solartron already has a program in place sponsored by the Thai government for rural solar electrification. I have one of their panels/controllers/batteries/lights/plugs @125W and itt was all free. I know they were installing in MHS province, but I don't know if the program is still active or whether it has completed what it set out to do.

PS: Solartron also had a rural irrigation water pumping project for poor rural villagers. I'd check that out first. Good Luck.
