Sure doesn't look like much in the immediate area.

Did a google for:  "bang chang" hotels

Which popped up with the asiarooms www site and only showed two:

Ban Chang Hotels Rayong

Bang Chang is popular for its beaches and attracts tourists from far and wide. Bang Chang abounds in scenic beauty and is favorite amongst the tourists. There are not many selections for accommodation in Bang Chang so it is advisable to reserve in advance. To get the best deal on Rayong Ban Chang Hotels and other hotels in Thailand browse through AsiaRooms hotel listing and book your choice of hotel on line. Book your hotel in advance with AsiaRooms and choose your hotel according to the style and the budget to make your vacation memorable.

Wow, 2 choices!

Soi sauce,

I beleive you have already logged off so this may be of no use to you.

The town of Banchang is six miles from the beaches. There are several hotels in the down town area. If you arrive by bus you'll see some right off. Some of the others can be found by asking around.

The beach is a different world from the down town area. The two hotels that thayaburimac listed are the only two good ones...The milford is there...a very large hotel but in need of some update. No girly bars in the beach area. Several restaurants but those restaurants are scattered along the beach. Some, like the Bella Vista is worth the hunt...if you have transportation...if not, stick to the down town area with many restaurants, and girls all within walking distance.

Hope this helps.

The Camel Bar has rooms to rent.

I personally would stay out of the Ban Chang Palace....its a rat hole, you would be better staying in the rooms availible at the Camel or there is a small hotel at the back of the strip (name escapes me)

If you want the beach....Purimas hotel, or another good one is the Garden Hotel

I live in Ban Chang and have never stayed at the Ban Chang Palace, but my remarks are based on comments I have heard from people

As regards your other question....not a problem with anywhere you stay as far as i am aware
