rocky Posted September 30, 2004 Share Posted September 30, 2004 My father moved to thailand over a year ago, lives in Jontiem, I have been going to thailand for holidays for 5 years. My father has expressed an opinion that there are some areas of Pattaya he would rather not drink or eat becasue of the low quality of people there. SO my father has found nicer areas to drink and play, I may add that my father enjoys meeting Thai females. I have met in Jontiem and Pattaya some very fine men of wealth and inteligence. Made new friends and a new life, to say that pattaya is full of criminals is very wrong, prehaps the person who made such a comment should sit at a different bar. I have bought a home in Jontiem and My British wife and I will be moving there. I am 35 and she is 25. We come from a middle class background in the uk. Thailand is a fantastic place with a varied amount of people. The cost of living, 10,000bht for my wife and I will keep us well for a week, though we do not pay rent, we eat out in a fine resturant once a week, MATAHARI or BRUNO's, we go to walking street 2 nights and enjoys the music and some bars. It might be a magnet for lowlives & criminals, but I feel a lot safer there than I do out and about in my hometown in North Wales where random violence is simply a way of life. Mine's a Chang Dave!
