thats a tad harsh. The most pointless thread would be wich way you wipe your ass?

My clue to shave is when my gal is laying out my razor next to the tooth brush with tooth paste on. I can get away with a couple of days though.

My big problem is that I spent 10-15 years sporting a beard before I met her. So whenever I shave, I cut myself up so bad I end up looking like a victim of domestic violence. Well, I can't touch anything with a blade on without drawing blood anyway. So no big surprise really. :o

While wandering around unshaven is perhaps unsightly for some (I admit to going a couple days sometimes), what peeves me the most is badly-dressed farangs ambling through glitzy shopping malls and city streets... of the old-shorts-and-vest-with-a-pair-of-tatty-flipflops-topped-off-by-poofy-ponytail variety. Tossers! :o

If that link would work, I feel it could change people's lives. :o

ROFLMAO - did you read the thread?

I will walk through a glitzy mall or shop how I like - I can afford to be there shopping and the shops do not seem to mind - only petty snobs who should really concern themselves with their own little lives - no pony tail though

I can go to any shop in Singapore dressed in shorts and t-shirts and flip flops - in fact I bought my Patek Philippe at Cortina Watch in Rafles City dressed exactly like that - they never complained and your opinion counts as much to me as the monkey in the tree up the road from my condo :D

In fact the monkey might talk more sense :o

anyone read in bkk post how monks thought they could make a killing in amulets. they all started producing them and oversupplied the market. lost lots of money, money they didnt have. are the loansharks gonna have to eat this one, i mean they wouldnt threaten to harm a monk would they.

do monks study economics as part of their program? every gold shop had em, were amulets ever in short supply.

I think I hit the button with you my dear untermenschen :D

Its OK - you go out and dress how you like and I will - I mean I will not be wearing shorts and floppy's in the Tanglin Club next week but probably wil in Siam Paragon and emproium at Crimbo if I feel like it.

As in insecure oik you probably feel you have to dress up!

You are probably the type to get dressed up for the girls in go go bar's of Pattaya and Bangkok! :o

Catch you later - just popping out to Cold Storage and Fair Price Finest in my t-shirt, shorts and floppy's - I probably will not be alone in this nice area of Singapore - no doubt you would wear a tuxedo. Did once see someone with a Pattaya t-shirt on in there - now that WAS out of place - Samui, Phuket etc OK ;-)

Don't dress-up, simply have the knack of not looking like a complete gimp and a certain respect for my hosts. Bangkok? nah, Pattaya? :D

Your grammar and appearance obviously go hand in hand. Do you also have a halitosis problem. :o

Because I do not live in Thailand full-time, I probably notice things expats do not notice. One thing I did notice last week was the number of unshaven males in Bangkok travelling on the Skytrain. By comparison, it appears Thai ladies pay special attention to their appearance.

A large number of Thai males with wispy facial hair and unshaven farangs with two or more days' growth. While the farangs looked like they were tourists, I consider a daily shave essential - even on holidays. As a tourist, I consider myself an ambassador for my country and I try to look clean and tidy at all times.

Am I too critical or should some males pay more attention to their appearance?

Peter

Since I recieved my discharge from the Army in 1969, I have cared little for shaving everyday. I do it as often as I feel like it. once twice three four five or no times a week. I just don't give a rats butt.
I have a <deleted> machu that I do keep trimmed to usually no longer than 3 inches below my chin, but sometimes I let it go longer. I don't care what men do with their facial hair, but I admit its a turnoff to see those ladies with mustaches. Get some wax ladies.
My wife has a moustache and I love it!! especially when the beer tide mark's on it. She likes stubble on me too but I dont like it. Think I agree with the poster who says you have to be good looking for it to look best. Sadly.................................. althought the wife always calls me "handsum man" I'm not!!

Hate shaving and Hyundai's but my ex girlfriend and current squeeze both go gaga at a 3 day growth. lets not forget that Thai guys are facially follically challenged

Yeah - same with chest hair too but back hair often brings our the expression, "King Kong".

PS: is the OP in favour of body hair or not - I think we should be told as he has made it his business to comment on the personal appearance of others.

Maybe we should insist on women wearing very short skirts on the BTS?

Now if I could twist my head in a 180......I'd have a hairy chest because my back has all the hair! Go figure. :o

I consider myself an ambassador for my country too. That's why when I look scuffy, poorly dressed, hung over etc.. I always tell people I am British!

I know a guy who followed through while teeing off down in Hua Hin - it was very watery and he had shorts on so it was all down his leg.

The caddies were torn between disgust and hilarity

as an american and an ambassador of my country i consider it necessary to go unshaven. this is the only accurate representation of my country. well, that and my red neck.

I think you need to hold fast food in your hands at all times too.
