Any Pre-assembled Bargain Pc's For 8,000 - 15,000 Bht Pls

Hi guys

Looking to help some students by finding a good quality pre assembled pc setup for between 8000 - 15,000 bht that we could order online and have delivered down south. Ideally would like at least 1gb memory, graphics card, LCD monitor and dvd recorder as standard but can add these if it falls within the budget set. Seen a few Acers but would maybe prefer an Asus setup if it is truly superior

All and any advice is welcomed to give them me a headstart in the right direction

Thanks

JAF

PS Might it be better to wait until the new year to see if there will be any better bargains then ??

Where? I was in Tesco the other day and they had decent ones for a fairly good price, have you tried Tesco or BigC (do you even have tesco or big C?)

I don't think Asus makes PCs (at least, they don't seem to sell any here). What I have seen are Lenovos, HPs, Acers, and various smaller companies. There are plenty of models that fit within your budget and specs, and those that don't have enough ram are easily upgradeable (RAM is one of the cheapest and easiest things to upgrade, and also has a very large effect on performance). Don't expect any to be sold for just 8,000, unless it's sans monitor. 15k will probably get you a 17" LCD monitor, a bit more will get a 19" monitor (the standard these days).

The last Hardware House flayer I have lists 28 models of Asus desktops from 13,900 to 30,300. But none have the specs poster wants anywhere near that price range.

Hi SBK

Its a 4 hour drive to the nearest tesco but if there is something you have seen I would appreciate knowing what it was so Icould use it as a comparison to whatever else is available

Thanks JAF

Lopburi, are you sure it was Asus and not Acer? The reason I say this is because I've never actually seen any Asus branded PCs (only barebones and notebooks), and HWH's website lists no PCs made by Asus. Asus's own website has no PCs (except barebones) listed in their products, either.

I have no idea if they are assembled by Asus or by HH or a third party but they are advertised as Asus and main board number as the model and sold as assembled units with a selection of processors to fit the various boards. As this is a major player suspect they at least have rights to sell as Asus.

Asus P5G-MX Cel D 420-430 or Pent 4 631/660

Asus P5LD2-X Cel D 420/430 or Pent 4 631/660

Asus P5LD2SE/C E4400-6550

Asus P5PL2-E E4400-6550

Asus M2N-MX AM2 X2 4000-4400

Asus M2A-VM AM2 X2 4000-4400

Asus M2N-X AM2 X2 4600-5000

Asus M2N-E AM2 X2 4600-5000

I think those are more like just PCs assembled by HWH that use Asus mainboards. Asus doesn't manufacture their own PCs, only small factor barebones, and their barebones don't use normal mainboards. It's probably misleading advertising on HWH's part.

I agree it is probably made by HH or a subcontractor but anyone buying would probably call is an Asus Computer.

Point taken - it looks like a computer model number rather than a mainboard number in the ad.

Hmm, the cases are generic, and pretty much the only thing that's made by Asus is the mainboard. The model of the mainboard is after the word "Asus" (they're all mainboard models made by Asus). I think that they are just offering generic computers based on certain Asus mainboards, but nothing else to do with Asus.
