Transit Visa Extension

So, i already posted i also got a TRANSIT VISA (30 days) instead of a Tourist Visa in Penang. Yesterday i went to the immigration office (Bkk) to ask if i can extend this one another 30 days. They sais YES, although i have to wait for 2 weeks to do that. Okay, so it's not 100% sure, but i will post again to inform you if it is really possible.

What do you mean about waiting two weeks? You have to wait until the transit visa is on the verge of expiry?

My transit visa (courtesy Penang consulate) expires Dec 29, and I am desperate to avoid having to travel at that time and have my New Year's holiday spoiled, so any clarity on this issue will be greatly appreciated.

you can extend your visa 2 weeks before it expires. (that's what they said to me) so in your case you can go there already(and let us know what happened!?) thanks.

I also went to Penang for a Tourist visa and left with a Transit visa and the same red stamp saying do not apply again. I did not get the REMARK stamp that you got though. My entry to Thailand is Dec. 4 and I have till Jan 2. On Dec. 13 I went to Phuket Immigration to ask about getting an extension. I was told that I could extend for 7 days for 1900 Baht. I did so and now I have till Jan 9.

I do wish you luck getting a 30 day extension. Just be prepared in case they only give you a 7 day extension.
