I haven't been to see a doctor yet, but all the symptoms point to an inguinal hernia on my right side. I live in Ubon Ratchathani and would like to have the operation done here. Has anyone had a hernia op done in Ubon, and, if so, where and what did it cost?

I have had a couple of inguinal hernias repaired (in Australia). Please be aware there are two types of repair - both vastly different.

The modern procedure is called keyhole surgery. It is day surgery and you are up and about and doing light jobs within 24 hours.

The older treatment requires a more invasive surgery and you could be out of action for up to 6 months!

Make sure you have a competant urologist doing the operation.
