Andyman
The party which won most seats in Thailand's election has claimed it has the backing of enough smaller parties to form a ruling coalition. But a People Power Party (PPP) spokesman declined to say which parties had agreed to join it. The PPP, allied to ousted ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra, won a comfortable victory in Sunday's poll but did not win an outright majority. It has pledged to bring Mr Thaksin back to Thailand if it takes power. BBC.

Farangderthal
Um, how about: Time for UNITY AND RECONCILLIATION and MOVING THE COUNTRY FORWARD along the EXPRESSED WISHES of the ELECTORATE? I think it would be good to listen to the people for a change.
sbk
Interesting thought farangderthal. too bad some Thai people don't feel the same. My neighbor here in the South reported an Isaan worker living nearby dropped in to gloat stating "thaksin will be back soon, too bad for you". Not an attitude very conducive to reconciliation or unity IMO. Suggest to those who think they know the thoughts and the feelings of the entire nation to remember that it is only the thoughts and feelings of certain parts of the nation, and not the whole. Votes from the South: South region: 23 constituencies / 56 MPs Rank Parties Votes Seats 1 Democrat Party 6,998,566 49 (87.5%) 2 People Power Party 1,042,021 2 (3.6%) 3 Pua Paendin 731,102 3 (5.4%)

True, but a very sizable part of the nation, in fact almost half, how about enough whining about ignorant Issarn farmers who vote for who they prefer, albeit if not the way you prefer. All the talk about the ignorant voters, what about George Bush? Whose done more harm, George or Taksin? Suspect and agree most would have preferred a Democrat victory, perhaps they should look at their failure to convince the majority of the "voting" population? sbk
This is already being discussed quite extensively here, so perhaps instead of having multiple threads discussing the same thing, its best to limit it to a few. //CLOSED
