Work Permit Canceled On 31st Dec 2007

Featured Replies

My work permit will be canceled on the 31/12/2007. I have a non-imm multiple entry visa with extension of stay valid normally till June 2008.

I just realized that this visa will be canceled 7 days after my WP is canceled (ie 7 Jan 2008).

However, I have to stay in Thailand till the 15th Feb 2008. What is the simplest (and legal) way to do so ?

Note : I am a EU citizen.

My assumption is that I am allowed to stay in Thailand without a visa for 30 days. So it means that I could stay legally without doing nothing till the 7 Feb 2008, then I would just have to go to a border and re-enter Thailand and i would still be allowed to stay for an extra 30 days, so till the 7 March. Can that work ?

Thanks you and merry Christmas to all !

There is no 30 days - 7 days is it.

Do you still have a valid multi entry visa (use by date of visa has not passed) issued by a Consulate? Only your extension of stay ends with loss of employment so if you do you can exit and return for another 90 day stay using your original visa for entry.

If not perhaps a trip to Vientiane for a tourist visa would be a good choice. You can also use two 30 day visa exempt entries with a border run but might have to buy a ticket out within 30 days for the first one.
