Loy Kratong 2008

Featured Replies

Hi all, I know that this is early but I have to get leave booked at work before the dates are taken by someone else (we can't all be off!). So; does anyone know the definite dates for Loy Kratong in 2008?

Before it's suggested, I HAVE googled it and got;

1 November,

12 November,

13 November,

24 November and

12 December.

Full moon in the 11th lunar month is 12 November, so I think that's probably the right date. Can anyone confirm that?

Thanks.

According the ThaiVisa 2008 calendar it is 12 November.

Thanks, I did check the forum calendar but Nov 08 is blank. Do you have a link for the one you use please?

My Bangkok Bank calendar confirms 12 November as the 2008 date for Loy Kratong

Using logic,

12 December is wrong - it's always in November

1 November is wrong as it's not allowed to be the first 3 days of November otherwise the first few days are in October

The festival is 3 days (seemed to have been 4 days this year due to the week-end) - my home made calculator says it is from the 10th up to the 12th November in 2008
