taxexile Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 fisherman , koh phangan nikon f-80 , 50mm lens , scanned ektachrome 100 vs transparency. the slide has a nasty scratch across the top that i would love to get rid off.
astral Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 The colours are surreal, and the flags and sticks look as though they were cut and pasted in afterwards. With the tools I have I am not sure I can eliminate the scratch, but with Photoshop at a pixel level it should be possible. Anyone game to try for the OP?
taxexile Posted December 30, 2007 Author Posted December 30, 2007 the picture , apart from resizing down from about 4mb , hasnt been altered at all , i think i used flash though , that might account for the colours.
The Vulcan Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Scratches and hair on original removed - photoshop healing brush. Didn't bother to do any other mods, just showing how easy scratch removal is
Nordlys Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Yes, color looks surreal but maybe that's the characteristics of Ektachrome/Kodachrome. Too much JPEG block noise but otherwise OK (I'd trim the sky off a bit).
sbk Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 ***OFF TOPIC!***Just as an FYI, tax, my husband knew the fisherman in your photo, said he died last year.
Nordlys Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Do you (or your husband) happen to know what those flags are for sbk?
astral Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Played around with PhotoStudio that came free with my printer.......... Here we are, clean and bright, not a scratch in sight. PM me with your e-mail address if you want the full size file.
Nordlys Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 Markers for the nets OK, that white thing is buoy then. Metta on his soul.

His niece, he was unmarried, no kids. I really like this photo, the dark sky, the bright flags, her bright pink shirt against the boat, and her beautiful smile
MrSquigle Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Yeah I love the second pic a lot, shame the face is not so clear, would have been excellent then.
astral Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 You really should clean the camera inside. Another nasty scratch.
