90 Days + Overstay

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I'm hoping to find a quick reply to a problem needed to be solved.

I'm leaving Thailand in less than ten days (of Swedish origin) but have used my 90 days in Thailand plus a couple of days of over stay (now 10 in total).

So the problem is, what happen if I travel to Penang or Laos to apply for another 60 day tourist visa for the remaining days of my stay? It's a blunder ofcourse on my behalf but I do not what to be refused re-entry to Thailand since my flight departure is from Bangkok.

Would anybody be able to inform me on what to do? I've considered staying within Thailand until I leave and pay the 20.000 baht fine at the airport but also, I would like to show my honest intention in solving the problem by leaving for Laos (?) and apply at the embassy. Not to keen on visiting the IDC in Bangkok...

A bit confused about regulations so does anybody think it is possible to go to Laos, pay my overstay at the border, apply at the embassy in Vien. and return to Bangkok in time to catch my flight home?

Any help on this matter is appreciated.

Andreas.

OK, no lectures.

DO NOT attempt a land crossing whilst on overstay, buses are regularly stopped and offenders removed, also some border crossings won't allow those with overstay stamps to enter the other country.

Do a run by air, pay the fine at the airport, and don't get caught before you get to the airport.
