Software To Calculate Student Grades

Featured Replies

Which software do you recommend for teachers? I need something which can keep students scores, add them up, check attendance. I am using XP.

It would also be helpful if the software can store photos of students so that I can put a name to a face and remember who they are.

It can be either freeware of paid software.

Being easy to use would be a big bonus.

Thanks

I can't claim it's all that easy to use, but Microsoft Excel (or other spreadsheet program) is infinitely flexible and good in my experience for grading, plus it's on just about every computer in Thailand.

I use Excel a lot as well as IJWTT because it is versatile. I have to review and go over grades and we sometimes get some teachers who use some 'weird' method of grading that needs to be translated into a %. We also have to give a certain number of 'points' to the Thai counterpart for inculsion on their reporting system--since this often changes, Excel is easy to use in that regard.

I don't know about photos though.

I agree that Excel is the way to go. As you said, it's versatile, and YES you can insert photos of the students if you wish.

Thanks guy!

Sounds like a practical solution seeing as i won't have to install any more software onto my laptop. I will do a google search on how to add photos to records. I get new classes every term and I am terrible at remembering names of students!
