I want to get a Residency Certificate from my local Amphur at Patumwan.

What do I need to provide as documentation?

I live in a condo that I own, so do I ask the management company at the condo to write a letter saying I live in my own condo?

Assume I need to bring copies of passport, Non-Imm B visa and photos.

Is there anything else I need to bring?

How long does it take?

Is there a charge?

Thanks

Pattaya Immigration requires some proof of address. Tabian bahn, driver lic, condo papers, etc.

copy of passport first page, visa page, departure card

2 photos

application form http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/index.php?au...amp;showfile=23

Pattaya IMM charges 200 baht for one cert and 100 or 200 baht for each extra copy.

Does anyone know what the charges are at other Immigration offices?

Is there a free place in Pattaya?

Thank s for that, but do I need a different form to get the Residency Certificate from the Amphur - not from Immigration?

Have to check, as the Amphur is much closer!

Hi Dazzler. The documents that you list were the only ones I took along with me when I got my residence letter from my local Amphur.

I also took my wife as my Thai is limited and she helped smooth the process.

If they have not done one before they may um and ahh for a while and consult the rule book.

The bigger Amphurs have usually done one before for a farang so know what to do.

They typed it out as I waited and there was no charge last time.

I have never needed a letter of residence from my own Embassy and much prefer the cheaper local option.

Took all the documents needed and the amphur office at Patumwan said they had no idea what I wanted and had never had this request before!

My Thai friend who speaks fluent English explained in detail what was required but to no avail.

They told me to get my passport tranlated and notarised and get a tabian baan.

Waste of time, no consistenct TIT.

Hi Dazzler. Is Patumwan a small town with not many farang?

If so they have probably not issued one before. In my experience the rural offices hate anything out of the ordinary, it's means they have to think!!!!!!!

In my own Amphur the woman who was supposed to be responsible had never done one before and refused point blank to do one.

So I went on her day off, saw someone else who phoned the nearest Amphur Muang, he asked them what to do and I got my letter confirming residence.

You may be lucky if you go to your nearest Amphur Muang but they may also tell you that you have to deal with your local Amphur.

Chokdee.

Pattaya Immigration requires some proof of address. Tabian bahn, .......

Of what use is a "residency certificate" if your name is on the tabian bahn (and you have your separate yellow book)? What is the tabian bahn if not a residency certificate?

He did not say his name was on the tabian bahn - mine isn't. But my wife is, and I live with the wife, so I live at that address. If you have a yellow tabian bahn that should be all the proof you need for any residence requirement.

Noise: reply

My name is not in the blue Tabian Bahn. They did ask to see it just to verify that it was the same as my application.
