This legal concept really ought be revisited in this context. As I have pointed out, it's impossible for many people to spend literally days reading through every T&C that applies to them. Moreover, not having a digital presence is increasingly becoming a necessity rather than a luxury. So I think it's fair to say that people are increasingly pressured to click the 'I agree' checkbox when, in fact: a) They may not agree with the entirety of the T&Cs and b) They simply do not have the time to read through pages and pages of legalise and, given that legalise is actualy quite hard to understand and can be quite misleading if interpreted as regular English, they may not understand it anyway. Caveat emptor harks from a far, far simpler time in history. It is an outmoded concept in the digital age on account of impractability and potential corporate abuse. -

Thai Virologist Dismisses Norovirus Outbreak 'Fake News'
Why would you need links for events that are widely reported. The number is now 3 cruise ships and 300+ passengers & crew. https://www.usnews.com/news/health-news/articles/2024-12-20/norovirus-sickens-hundreds-on-three-cruise-ships-cdc The reason why cruise ships infectious illness outbreaks are known is because they are now reportable. Previously, such occurrences did not have to be made public. We can thank the US CDC for requiring that level of disclosure. The Cruiise industry has tried for years to have the reporting requirement reversed and came close in the first Trump administrtaion. These outbreaks are not spontaneous. They occur because infected people board the cruise ships and infect people. In most cases, the passengers know that they are sick, but still board anyway. Many infectious diseases are imported to a geographic zone by foreigners. This is a known fact and it happens whenever a domestic population is "disrupted" by foreign agents. Covid as a mass infection was first identified in the Koh Samui area and was prevalent amongst the European tourists who were visiting Thailand. They in turn infected other Europeans who brought the disease back to their homelands. The local Thai service industry staff, who were infected, icarried the disease to their home areas. A more brutal illustration was the 2013 cholera outbreak in Haiti. Nepalese UN personnel were cholera carriers and their sewage waste contaminated the community where they were billeted. Because an illness is not reported or is under reported does not mean that it does not exist or is not present. We are currently seeing a resurgence of Covid infections, Flu and RSV. in western nations. The infections will be transported to vacation destinations by infected visitors. -

Thai Baht Expected to Slide to 35.50 per Dollar by 2025
There are a number of factors involved. Under the IMFs Managed Floating Peg, BOT has the option to intervene or not, based on the country's economic need. But BOT also has to model the chances that any intervention will be successful or whether it will only be temporary and as a consequence, a waste of money in the longer term, in which case it may elect not to intervene and merely go with the flow. You mention a better rate last May or June, against which currency, GBP or USD? The value of THB against USD is fairly straight forward, the above managed peg notwithstanding. But even against USD, it is entirely possible to have different exchange rates at different times, despite the USD value being the same, based on BOT's decision to intervene or not. And of course, the value of THB against GBP uses three currencies to arrive at an effective exchange rate, this means USD may be stronger whilst GBP is weaker, the net of which could easily give a different rate, at a different time, despite USD value being lower/or stronger. And finally of course is the strength or weakness of the Thai economy and the view markets have of it going forward. If that changes when all other factors are equal, the exchange rate will once again be different from what it was earlier. -

Trump’s ‘stunningly unqualified’ diplomatic team shapes up at breakneck speed
Since the OP is based on nothing other than forecasted performance, here's mine. 5 minutes after Trump's inauguration, the truth about the economy will be revealed and it won't be pretty. They'll, of course, blame it on the Bad Orange Man, but it'll really be yet another downward revision like they've been doing every month on the jobs numbers. Perfect example is when the millions of unemployed illegals start being counted in the "available labor pool", and the real unemployment rate becomes public. Right now, they're hiding it... The right wing press is forecasting even worse (some even using the D word), but here's one from long before the election results were known: In light of recent economic developments, J.P. Morgan Research has raised the probability of a U.S. and global recession starting before end-2024 to 35%. The probability of a recession happening by the end of 2025 remains unchanged at 45%. https://www.jpmorgan.com/insights/global-research/economy/recession-probability -

My wifey lost her job
When describing a resident of Thailand it is normally assumed "Chinese" refers to ethnicity. Just saying. Not trying to start an argument.
