Hi,

i have a 90 days tourist visa which will expire on Feb 3, my flight back home is on Feb 26. I have been to the Immigration Office in Bangkok and they told me that I can only apply for extension of visa once (which I did after the first 60 days for another 30) and now I'm wondering what I could do about the 23 days I don't have a visa for.

I have been told that I have to leave the country for 90 days after staying here 90 days because they have become more strict at borders and airports. Is that true or could I just do a visa run at the end of january to get 30 more days?

Thanks for your help.

You have been told wrong. If you had a 60 day stay on a tourist visa and a 30 day extension you should be able to cross a border, enter another country, and return to receive a 30 day visa exempt entry. Take your ticket out with you.

The 90 days in a six month rule only applies to stay in Thailand using visa exempt entry. You were here on a tourist visa so that does not count into the 90 day total allowed.

After exhausting his tourist visa and visa runs, what are his options ? Apply for another tourist visa ? In Singapore I was told to apply for a subsequent tourist visa, I have to be outside Thailand for 60 days before they will approve another tourist visa.

He has the option to board the flight he says he plans to catch on February 26th. He is not trying to stay here on visa exempt or tourist visas from his post.

I am actually exploring the scenario for my case.
