January 16, 200818 yr I haven't seen any posts mentioning this Thai Speech Synthesis Project. There is an online demo where you can paste Thai text and get an mp3 file in a couple of seconds. You can also download the program to your computer here.
January 16, 200818 yr Unfortunately the links don't work - nectec's search engine returns the same addresses so it looks like (sadly not for the first time) there's a problem with the site.
January 17, 200818 yr Continuing from my previous thought, they probably haven't done any work on this project since 1998 five[/i] years, apparently], but it's still fun to play with. The links work for me, but also intermittently timeout and I have to refresh a couple of times. Overall, fun but primitive. It's bad at non-dictionary words, and the speed is either too fast or too slow. Even on the second notch from the left it sounds like the speaker is talking to me like I'm a two-year-old who she suspects is mentally challenged! Edited January 17, 200818 yr by Rikker
