Hi, I have a Beagle pup (age 6months nearly) and I would like to hear from someone in regards to the best age to get her spayed. Any considered advice?? Thanks.

Thanks for taking the time to post the links. Much appreciated.

I will still get her spayed as there are so many street dogs around us. My property has a lot of land and although there is a wall around the perimeter..where there is a will there is a way!

After reading the last article though I will get her spayed sooner rather than later.

Thanks again :o

good on you that you want to prevent unwanted puppies!!!

too many people here don't spay their dog and don't watch them carefully...

also i see it all the time that thai people get a purebreed bitch only to have her mated as soon as possible... the money spent has to come back, right? grrrrrrr :o

don't worry too much about problems with spaying, if you chose an experienced vet. now is a good age to have her spayed, you will see, the day after surgery she is already well and same as before :D

From the theory, the best time to spay is when dogs pass their 2nd estrus cycle. (about 1.5 years old)

When a dog goes trough "Proestrus state" ( bloody discarge),start at the 1st day of it then count to the next 2.5 -3 mth she will be in "Anestrus state" this period is the best time for operation because the reprodructive system is least active hence she will lost lesser blood too.
