iv'e been too the immigration today with all the papers showing i have an income of 40t baht (bank remittances, bank books etc) after examining all my papers for 20 mins he then tells me i need a letter from the british embassy confirming i have an income of 40,000. On ringing the embassy they tell me this letter will cost me 2,680 baht and i need to supply them with proof of income but would not tell me what proof they require,so therefore can anyone inform of what paperwork they require ? some of my paperwork is back in england so there could be a problem.

would rental property contracts suffice ?

Just to confirm that yes you need the letter from the Embassy.

And yes it is rather expensive. Plus the expence of travelling from Samui. You will need to do this every year.

I have not done this but it really is whatever they will accept as proof.

Hopefully a member with experience of this will help.
